Why should a child learn how to programm?
Programming is modern literacy, like math and reading. It is needed not so that children necessarily become programmers, but so that they can effectively solve complex problems, improve their performance in mathematics and other sciences, develop thinking, deduction, identifying patterns, automation, and abstraction. It's like playing chess: the brain begins to develop and understand the exact sciences better, but the sciences themselves are not needed for the game.
